"Sky Above the Clouds" Painted by Georgia O'Keeffe these Sixty-two Years Past in 1962

Take time to quietly contemplate this changeless yet ever changing view which you yourself may well have seen.

The peaceful painting was made generations ago during a time of turmoil when some of us were young, others of us not yet born and a few of us adults.

She painted it to capture the feel and view looking down from an airplane window upon a sea of broken clouds. It could just as well be seen to capture the surface of the sea with drifting rafts of broken ice.

Paintings do not need words. They need only be entered.

Only when writing this bit did I read the few words written there (had simply wanted to find the image from a suitable source) and was pleased to see that someone else saw an ocean/sky cloud/ice duality.

The rest of the words are soulless in that they simply describe the physicality of the painting.

In times of turmoil peace seemingly must come from within, but truly can be found in the contemplation of elements of beauty which surround us, which surrounded those who came before.
