Elizabeth Warren
Related: About this forumJust finished 'A Fighting Chance.' Anyone else read it?
I bought the book last Saturday. About halfway through I thought it was a decent read but I knew I'd grade it lesser than "decent" if it wasn't someone I was interested in like Warren.
But then around the halfway point, maybe a little before, maybe a little after, damn did it get good. I've read a fair amount (especially for a 24 year old in the age of iPhones and the Internet) and I've never been as inspired and moved reading a book. It was angering, sad (talking about her golden dying hit home ), sometimes funny, but it gave me hope. Real hope that came from real situations and real battles. I feel like I should go out and volunteer or even run for office (something I've somewhat/kind of kept in the back of my mind for when I'm older). It was really good.
I know 2016 can be a sensitive topic around here and I know it's unlikely she will run. We need her though. She truly is a fighter for us "average" Americans and I think a Warren 2016 campaign would make Obama's '08 run look as exciting as a Romney speech. She could lead this country out of the hell hole it's going down.

(11,197 posts)If she runs, she has my vote. If not, then I hope Bernie Sanders holds to his pledge to run. Either one of those 2 would garner my support and my vote.

(4,677 posts)We need her to run. The thought of hillary makes me very worried.

Great stuff.
I love how she emphasizes the need to fight, fight, fight.

(57,936 posts)I love her story about Larry Summers and the Insiders -- page 106.
She also told interesting stories about Geithner.
I'm solidly Elizabeth Warren for 2016. But I like Sanders if Elizabeth Warren does not run. I think there is a good chance she will run if she feels support from us.

(22,000 posts)I had an electronic version which is harder on the eyes, but that was all I was able to get here in Korea. I need to buy my mom a birthday gift and have decided to give her a copy of Warren's book. Headed home in a week and will buy it at Powell's and hopefully be able to get it gift wrapped.
