As to the examination of my faith, as opposed to a challenge to it, I seek consistency in it and the absence of bad extrapolations from it.

(82,333 posts)Frankly, there haven't been any original criticisms in centuries. The stuff you see all over is simply repackaged with acne cream.
What I do do, though, is find myself ensconced in different aspects of it. Maybe it is partly due to all the recent (not new) criticisms, but I've found myself pondering human nature a lot lately, and what we, all of us, have to do with God, and God with us.

I have also determined that I want to spend the balance of my days living out the faith passed along to me by countless generations.
My faith is a comfort to me, though I am far less than perfect in living it.
