Kid's Adorable Note Shows The True Meaning Of Ramadan

Yasmine Hafiz

A Reddit user found a note outside his university which shows the real meaning of the holy month of Ramadan. It was shared with the explanation, "Kid's note about Ramadan - found outside my uni. I am not Muslim but this made my day."

"Hi my name is Riaz and I'm nine years old and in my religion we have this thing called Ramadan. I thought because it's a special month I should give supplies to all you people in need," it said.

Commenters applauded the kid's intentions, writing, "Great kid. But a better upbringing. Alhamdullilah for having such wonderful parents," and "Good on him and thank you for posting it."

The note shows how people can share their own faith traditions with others by explaining them with a spirit of good will. Last Ramadan, HuffPost Religion shared a sweet note sent to neighbors by Muslims celebrating Ramadan in their apartment building. They wrote, "In the blessed spirit of Ramadan starting Monday evening July 8, 2013 and ending Wednesday August 7th, 2013, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my wishes and prayers to my beloved neighbors."

Ramadan has always been one of my favorite religious holidays. Just goes to show that one doesn't have to be a member of a particular flock to enjoy, share and celebrate meaningful things. Blessed be those with goodness in their hearts.
