Your favorite "thinker" from a religion/non-religion different than yours

Me? Tolstoy. The man inspired MLK Jr, Gandhi, preached an Anarcho-Pacifist philosophy, is up there with Dickens and Hugo when it comes to writing about the possessed, and through his writing, taught us a great deal about ourselves

Hey he loved animals! We have a dog walk for charity, and a priest says a prayer invoking St. Francis. One of the few times I don't mind public prayers. Plus the cool blessing of the animals in NYC is based on st francis iirc?
