alone. It was smuggled out. It is usually played at Ash Wed and durning lent.

The best is at Tenebrae-the service of light- when they sing this in darkness. Then a loud noise to signals Christ's resurrection and the lights go on. It is great in English or in Latin. It is psalm 51.

(that feat seems reserved for Beethoven's 9th symphony, and Moonlight Sonata) it did make me introspective.

And that one voice above all the others was phenomenal! (I don't know the vocal designations for anything above baritone )

When Choirs sing this four or five members of the choir sing from a different location than the other members.

and would have a greater emotional effect on a person. I'd love to see David Hykes and the Harmonic Choir live, too (preferably in that large cistern they used in one of their recordings.)

I heard it so many times at funerals and gatherings to mourn friends lost in the AIDS crisis.

I really can't listen to it these days.

Unfortunately, my connection prevents me from listening to this one, but maybe later.
