I keep hearing that gun deaths are falling,

but according to the CDC they reached a peak of about 37,000 in 1993, fell to a low of about 28,000 in 1999 and have been steadily climbing ever since to a projected 32,000 this year. So, yeah, gun deaths are increasing year over year at about 1% without a break.

But that's only part of the issue. There are twice as many gunshot injuries survived than not. That means we can look forward to nearly 70,000 injuries to go along with the 32,000 deaths. More than 100,000 gunshot incidents a year.

So when you hear that there is no gun violence outbreak in America, take it with a block of salt.
