"You know, my name is Mike too."

OK, short version: I am STILL a Web Designer but had to take a gig as a convenience store clerk to pay the bills. As soon as I can quit, intend to quit. Right now, it's my financial lifeline.
I'm at work today. A man walks up to the register. I'm guessing he's in his 70s somewhere, at least. As I'm ringing up his purchase he says to me "You know, my name is Mike too. If I'm ever in the store and anyone ever gives you trouble..."
And then he pulls back his jacket and shows me his gun in the holster and smiles and nods his head.
I thanked him.
"Gun Control" isn't an easy issue. It's not black and white. The ONLY reason I am NOT carrying a firearm for my OWN self defense is finances. It's on my bucket list. As much as I'd rather not admit it, I am living in a town where carrying a gun for my own protection is probably a VERY good idea.
And fortunately, the state of Nevada makes you jump through a few hoops before that can happen...but it IS on my SHORT "bucket list." I'm too old to let anyone fuck with me. If you THROW down, you're gonna GO down. If it's a matter of one of us left standing, I'm going to be that guy.
Hopefully that's not Ted Nugent-level ignorance on my part. Move to Nevada like I did and you might change your perspective.
