Weekend Gun Report: Presidents Day Edition
"Evolve, an organization that hopes to reach both gun owners and non-gun owners and change the cultural norms around gun behavior―much like Mothers Against Drunk Driving changed the norms around drinking and driving―has released a cheeky new ad which imagines the Second Amendment being written to incorporate a sense of personal responsibility. The right to bear arms, they argue, does not give you the right to be careless." (Video at link)
Here is todays report:
- Friday (40 incidents, 16 fatalities)
- Saturday (42 incidents, 20 fatalities)
- Sunday (56 incidents, 21 fatalities)
- Monday (26 incidents, 6 fatalities)

(312 posts)How many of these incidents were cops shooting suspects?
How many of these incidents were homeowners defending themselves in their homes?
How many of these incidents were gang on gang shootings and killings?
How many of these incidents involved semiautomatic modern sporting rifles?
How many of these incidents involved fully automatic weapons that we keep hearing about?
How many of these incidents led to someone being arrested?
How many of these incidents are being investigated as possible or probable self defense shootings?
How many people were killed in bathtub accidents, auto accidents or violent non firearm hostilities on each of those days.
The truth may be hard for some to handle but sometimes we really do need a comparative perspective.

(6,641 posts)(or not) and you are just trolling this safe haven Group. Please read the SOP for this Group and notice that the need for gun control has already been established and this Group discuses ways to implement it, while pointing out the menace that lax gun regulation is to our society.
All of the NRA "arguments" that you have listed above have been countered in this Group over time, so I won't bother attempting to educate you here, as you are obviously a Second Amendment absolutist. The incidents listed in Joe Nocera's daily Gun Report are all verifiable, and are all gun related. You, and gun fetishists like you, may rejoice at some of these "incidents" but most Americans do not.
If you want to argue the merits of guns and how beneficial they are to our society, take it to the RKBA Group.

(312 posts)I get it. If the NRA says it then it is not true. So if the NRA states something that is factually true that truth becomes a lie...
NO, you missed the point. I'm really into honesty and honor in what is posted. When you twist, alter, delete, and spin facts to fit your singular point of view then you've escaped the realm of truth and honesty.
I"m not at all interested in what you have decided but I am always interested in factual and provable truth.
