the guy with the "hood" on would have his trigger finger ON the trigger... and ready to fire a second or third shot if the "angry black gangbanger with skittles" didn't die from the first shot already fired.

4. knock knock jokes

What was the knock knock 'joke' supposed to do for zimm's defense? .. his defense atty started off: knock knock, who's there?, george zimmerman, george zimmerman who? OK you can be on the jury.
I guess he was trying to show how it was impossible for a jury to be seated without pre trial knowledge of the zimmerman, hinting at prejudice. Turned out 'off color', eh?

I know how that may sound a bit weird, in this context, under these circumstances, but I think you’re the perfect audience for it,.. West then told his ill-timed knock-knock joke. “Knock knock, who’s there? George Zimmerman. George Zimmerman who? All right. Good, you’re on the jury,” he said, poking fun at the jury selection process and the media’s intense coverage of the trial. No one laughed at West’s joke, however, and the lawyer tried to argue the humor of it.
“Nothing?” West asked incredulously, as a couple people laughed awkwardly. “That’s funny!” Perhaps West didn’t realize that joking about an accused murderer knocking on your door isn’t exactly humorous.

My question about the taped screaming 'No NO!' just before shots fired. Would someone with a gun be so terrified by an unarmed person he had been following for a while even if they'd started fist brawling? it would far more likely be someone with a gun pointed at him, screaming.

Knock knock
Who's there & why are you following?
Me & my Gun
Me & my Gun who?
Me & my Gun go BANG you're dead.

But far more about perception and how narratives take on a life of their own, as removed from the reality of a situation as is necessary to push an agenda.

I can count 7 different points in this picture that bear as much truth to the ESTABLISHED facts as this does to a random individuals wedding photos.

They can't help hiding their true spots. One even came out against immigration reform yesterday, but that one is a full time misogynist and part time gunner.

With all kinds of new gunners signing up, who post only about guns, the site is allowing an entryway for RWers.

It has nothing to do with the Trayvon shooting, not one thing...Your narrative is as honest as this painting. I merely admire it in I believe art has an obligation to make one feel, and to think.

squee: I merely point out this picture is lie. It has nothing to do with the Trayvon shooting, not one thing..

When looked at as allusion, it has much to do with the zimmerman/trayvon case. The imagery is the thing, not that skittles weren't really being offered, or that zimm wasn't in the kkk & he allegedly has no racist background.

I can count 7 different points in this picture that bear as much truth to the ESTABLISHED facts as this does to a random individuals wedding photos.

Reminds me of the newspaper challenge, find the slight differences in two drawings which appear identical at first (bow tie v. long tie etc). Except you just have to find 7 things, which could be the same for a wedding photo or something.
Ok, here I go
1. Torn US flag revealing confederate stars & bars.
2. young boyish black child.
3. above offering skittles
4. armed white 'guard(?) with kkk hood
5. Gun aimed at boy (but isn't it established fact?) - the imagery is that zimm - with shoulder badge - was 'on patrol' armed)
6. (guess) hoodie on black child?
That's all I come up with, tho you could separate a couple, like 'white guard' & 'kkk hood'.
Or two flags. Guard 'standing his ground' as boy offers candy? I see little to do with the guard's belt, but?
How'd I do? Lot's of famous art has to do with imagery. Not that this will end up 'famous art', but the allusion to what occurred is there.
One of my favorite paintings is imagery, called maybe 'the stages of life' by thomas hardy iirc, at the wash DC art gallery - has 4 separate paintings traveling the 'river of life', from birth to death.

I watch this case as a trained and proficient gun owner. I would never be in this situation, but I have an obligation to those I train, and protect, to make sure they learn to avoid it as well.

Zimmerman made legal, but unwise choices at least 3 times in this scenario, why he made those decisions I do not know, but I am not going to automatically attribute them to prejudice. In fact GZ has shown a history of progressive political involvement in his community, must have been setting up his alibi... But hey, we have witches to burn, let's not stop to concern ourselves with any other angles or viewpoints.

I do see racism as problematic, just not where it matters why a person is dead in terms of the letter of law.Dead is dead, the whys, well that's just for the living to try and understand what is most often not understandable.

A cop, actually that's funny, and sad at the same time...I don't need a badge to protect someone. Your disdain and yet dependency are a tad.... conflicted.

It seems very important you are able to put everyone in nice neat and labeled little boxes, not all of us fit so well.
I have a very good understanding of racism, and bigotry, as I see and understand it it involves snap judgments of character and broad brush judgments of people using deep held preconceived notions.... hmmm I think I just had an epiphany involving projection and deflection, cool.

can't see anything but their gunz. To them Zimmerman is a hero, and a shining beacon to all NRA-apologists who would stand their ground against obvious gangbangers and other perceived bad guys. To the "cold dead hands" crowd, the right to self-protection extends to both real and imagined threats, and standing one's ground is subjective (from the gun huggers point-of-view).

The ones who come to this Group in order to "educate" we non-armed heathens, are really only trying to show us the error of our ways, and their intentions are honorable, Bless their little right-winged hearts...
