At least it wasn't a guest in their home who lost their life. I'm thinking there is some sort of lesson to be learned here, but my guess is that it will be lost on the parents. They will more likely find comfort in saying it's god's will, and their daughter is now at peace. Of course, she was at peace when she was still alive, but that's probably not relevant to them.

When guns aren't properly secured. I can't imagine thinking a gun is a good gift for a FIVE year old. That's just insane.
