I'm planning to keep my commitment to do what I can to reduce

gun violence by attending the Mayors Against Illegal Guns rally in downtown Atlanta tomorrow. I must admit to a little trepidation though, as I suspect we will see some counter demonstrators there packing heat.....

I will keep my 5 grandchildren in mind and forge ahead. I really hope there is a good turnout, but any show of support in this red state will do.

Those idiots do more harm to themselves and their cause than they are capable of realizing.

Peace.

too discouraged since this IS Georgia and I really didn't see any promotion for it leading up to the rally. I only became aware of it through an email because I had signed up online with Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

Activists were signing up volunteers and one woman I spoke with who has been active in other causes (she specially mentioned women's rights) said she thought time and determination would build the movement.

My impression was that there were more women than men in attendance and that reinforced my feeling that women are out in front on this issue......and I believe in the power of women!
