Some messaging I have been trying out on twitter re gun control/so-called "Constitutional Carry"
So-called Constitutional Carry is actually Guns on Demand.
Texas GOP values ---- guns on demand for domestic abusers.
Texas GOP values ---- guns on demand for school shooters.
Texas GOP values --- guns on demand for terrorists and felons.
I think we should throw this in their faces.
"The GOP wants guns on demand for school shooters!"
So instead of us imploring and begging for some measure of reasonable gun safety laws, instead we hit them with the absurdity of their reckless dangerous views. We go on the attack. We don't beg. Put them on defense.
DEFEND GUNS ON DEMAND FOR WIFE BEATERS, GOP!
Thoughts?

I've been at this for 40 years, always being courteous and reasonable. No more, I've had it. Give back as I've gotton.

(63 posts)you still need to go through a background check to get a gun from an FFL. CC is only about carrying concealed which even if it wasnt a thing it wouldnt effect any of those examples. The more worrying thing is off the handle heat of the moment scuffles like road rage incidents, public disputes ect. which might escalate since you dont need a license to carry a gun any more. If something is planned it really doesnt matter if you need a license to conceal or not, theyre still going to buy/steal the gun and do the illegal deed and this has been shown countless times.
If you want to go that route then its up to you, but its a disingenuous method.

(14,559 posts)the only requirement the seller need meet is to "not knowingly sell to a prohibited person".
So the buyer has tears tattooed on his face. Was I to suspect he might be a prohibited person?

(63 posts)I was talking about CC specifically in regards to the point the TC made. In terms of private sales, yes that comes down to you and what you think should be done. Every person that i know that does deal in private sales usually does something to cover their own ass. They make a bill of sale, they require the person has a valid ID or Concealed Carry card or they just go get a background check anyway.
Universal Background Checks in general are an unenforceable law without some type of registration system to easily trace that firearm back to the seller (who can then deny it and have no evidence that they are lying), but even then that only really effects guns made going forward after the laws in place and not the hundreds of millions already in circulation. There is also nothing stopping someone from filing off serial numbers if they wanted or going to 3d printing for certain things.

(5,263 posts)ignored the descriptive first half of the 2nd Amendment.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.
It was obviously put there for a reason.
