Who We Are:
Moms Demand Action
Eight kids and teens die every day from gun violence in America. Moms have had enough—and now they’re organizing to keep our communities safe. With a chapter in every state, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is the biggest grassroots organization of moms working together to reduce gun violence.
After the tragic shooting in Newtown, CT, many Americans were stunned to learn about the level of gun violence in our country. Stay-at-home mom Shannon Watts decided to do something about it and channel what moms were feeling into a movement to stop everyday violence.
What started as a single Facebook page has grown into a nationwide movement. In the past year, moms have taken on Starbucks for allowing customers to carry concealed, loaded guns in its stores—and won. They called on Facebook to crack down on illegal gun sales on its platform—and won. And they’re calling on state and national lawmakers to enact common-sense gun laws that will protect our kids.
Mayors Against Illegal Guns
Mayors are leaders on public safety issues, and they know that common-sense gun laws and policies can keep guns out of the wrong hands.
Mayors get the late-night calls when a cop is shot or a child is killed, and they know the toll that violence takes on our communities.
In 2006, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former Boston Mayor Thomas Menino founded Mayors Against Illegal Guns as a coalition of 15 mayors. Since then, they have built a bipartisan group of more than 1,000 current and former mayors from nearly every state to fight for common-sense gun laws.
Together, our mayors have been leaders in promoting and advocating for common-sense laws that reduce gun violence and save lives.
Everytown Survivor Network
Everytown for Gun Safety empowers survivors to share their stories and take action to spare other families pain.
Everytown is committed to bringing survivors of gun violence together to build communities of support throughout the country. Everytown provides opportunities in-person and online for survivors to connect with each other, honor the lives of their loved ones, and create long-lasting bonds.
Survivors of gun violence have the unique moral authority to remind elected officials and everyday Americans that our weak gun laws have serious consequences and to urge them to take action to reduce gun violence. With support from Everytown, survivors are empowered to share their stories and become leaders in campaigns to support common sense gun laws.

Everytown For Gun Safety is one of many successful gun control organizations that is being very effective in the fight against gun violence on our streets and in our communities. More and more Americans are joining the fight against the right-wing gun lobby and its legislative arm -- the NRA/ILA "guns everywhere for everybody" death merchants.
