I am having an issue with writing and posting and it only happens in DU

I will be writing a post and suddenly I am typing in the middle of a sentence at the beginning of my post and also.. my text will just disappear.. I will be typing and hit a key to start a new word and the whole text that I have already written will disappear.. Help

The only other social media site I go to is Facebook.. and yes my posts are much shorter there.. happy birthday that kind of stuff.. so not sure what the cause is ..

3. I've had issue several times when typing fast, but think I probably hit some key combination that erases everything.

5. Sounds entirely like a browser issue.

Try getting a new copy of your browser.
Oh, and check for viruses, malware, in case there's a key logger in town.

No browser setting on earth that I have ever seen will do this.


I use a very high tech extension that mirrors my typing (I am doing it right now) in a text editor (on a desktop system)
Even keymapping (again, very high-tech) would be pressed to do that --- i.e. "delete to end of line"
These are un-recommended for "Normal" people.
I ain't one.

7. I do not know what the heck I am doing wrong.. but another person has the same issue

from typing too fast.. and believe me I am a fast typer I been playing around here, and trying to see what causes my cursor to jump back.. and I think it is me hitting a key or the space bar too fast.. I just did it typing this post to you.. I hit my space bar three times and my cursor jumped back.. it looks to be the issue of the typist and not DU.. :

9. From my vague memory ...

What system are you on?

I vaguely recall shortcuts similar to "hit this key three times" ... not "knock three times" .... to kick in some magic assistive whatever.

Only other imaginable thing(s) might be
Browser is slow and you are overrunning its text buffer (wild guess)
You have some extension installed, like an "abbreviation" one
You just have some bogus extension installed.
That said, I load up on them and never saw such.

Can you try another browser? I sometimes switch between safari and Firefox (I ditched Opera when all my settings disappeared after an "auto update" ) The auto-pager extension works on Firefox, and there are times that it saves be hours (OK, many minutes)

That should eliminate the browser as an issue.

6. It happens to me when I hit an extra key with the edge of my hand and then

... and then a bunch of text gets highlighted (like ctrl-A) but another key gets hit almost immediately (touch typing) and that makes all the text disappear.

It may happen only on DU because I think the type-in window is custom made and is ultra responsive.

8. I was trying to see what I was doing wrong.. and hit my space bar three times in a row in here

and my cursor jumped back.. I have had this lap top for a few months ..but I think all the posts that I have been doing in here lately shows that this is a more sensitive machine than the old laptop
