This is the second time this has happened to me recently. Don't recall if the other problem was also Raw Story.
Add: Just saw another poster say they got fake virus alerts from Raw Story. (https://www.democraticunderground.com/100218800731#post3)

(60,915 posts)I saw that "breaking news" story. It's a retweet of something a member of Congress said. Rawstory has elevated it to the level of the Hindenburg crashing into the Titanic.
It's clickbait. It's clickbait that appeals to some DUers, but it's still clickbait.

(136,043 posts)and keep in mind, please, FAKE and MALICIOUS are NOT synonymous.
malicious = intending or intended to do harm.

(25,223 posts)but I go there because they have the latest breaking news. The pop ups and whatever else is very annoying that's why I'm in and out.
Sometimes I reboot my computer after I go there.
As far as their content, it isn't Pulitzer prize stuff but it's way better than the right wing rags that get cited here, like the Hill. The Hill that traitor John Solomon was with and who Jonathan Turley still writes for.
Raw Story is pretty far left IMO.

(60,915 posts)which they've stolen from someone else and present as their own work. Along the way, they remove the author's name, so that the person who did the actual work gets no attribution.

(4,484 posts)I NEVER click open ANY links in posts. Only takes one mistake to learn that lesson. I prefer posts that offer content not clicks.

(10,507 posts)I just wonder if anything can be done. There are lots of sites that give off fake alerts like that.
