DU Community Help
Related: About this forumcan't copy/paste art reproductions off of Google for a Lounge thread. Not any.
Old artworks so no copyright is involved. What am I doing wrong or what is stopping the process at this end?

(18,633 posts)want resulting in multiple pictures in your post. If you want to have a document to use for posting pics to DU then he can make a document of the links associated with the pics. Just saving the pics to a file wont do it, but saving each pics links will be a place for you to go and copy one or more links to post to a DU post

(22,550 posts)you're copying the image itself to your clipboard. That's why when you attempt to paste it into the text area on DU nothing happens, because the text area can only handle text, and you're trying to paste an image.
The trick to solve this is that when you right-click the image, select the option which says "Copy image location" or "Copy image link" or "Copy image address" -- it will be something like that, depending on which browser you're looking at. What you're trying to get is the link to the image, not the image itself.
If you use "Copy image location/link/address", then when you paste into the DU text area, it should paste the image URL as text.

(121,101 posts)On a Mac you can copy right off the screen using the Screengrab app, which will save the captured picture as a .jpg file, which you can upload to to Postimages, and thence to a DU post like any other Postimages picture. It's a bit cumbersome but if you can't copy an image otherwise it does work. I don't know how to do it on a PC but there must be a similar procedure.

(19,192 posts)Imgur and other programs let you upload your image and get a URL (link) to it. THAT is what you paste into a DU post.
It must end with .jpg, .gif, etc. (one of the image file types)

(65,091 posts)what I want is a file in Word to store my links to individual images e.g. The Third of May by Goya. Then in my post on DU I would use the link and the image would appear in my post. Is that no longer possible?

(14,052 posts)On desktop systems, you can often right-click or control-click to get an image's address on the web, to post in your message, but not on iOS.
Don't know about Android.
In this case, try to save the image to photos or screenshot it and save to photos (cuz some sites use JavaScript to prevent downloads of photos). And then upload the image to an image host.
Often, the link you get with a right or control click is not usable by DU's code, so again, download or snap the image and upload and post from an image hosting site.
