I hate Paypal (do the names Musk and Theil sound familiar? ) but I used Apple Pay, so they don’t have any knowledge of my credit card number. And I am a cheapskate.

You can use an ad-blocker, but I do recommend star membership in addition (Imagine the countless hours of work the admins are putting in.)

The rest of the internet is a world of nicer without the ads.

As a star member I only see that message before I log in. Never when logged in.

6. There's no way for DU to know if you're a Star Member or not until you sign in

Even if you are a Star Member, if you are not signed into the site you will see ads. Once you sign in, the software knows not to show ads to you.

You are a Star Member so if you're still seeing ads after you sign in, please let me know because that should not happen.
