When creating the Feed page, the idea was that it might be useful for people to have a feed of information of interest to them -- say, your thread hit x number of recs, or replies, or you got a mail message, etc. And it seemed like a natural fit to include subscriptions as part of that feed.
But given that there were already a lot of changes going on, I wanted to make sure that wherever possible, I avoided changing things if I didn't have to. With Subscriptions on the Feed page, that meant that the standalone Subscriptions page could potentially have been disposed of, but that felt like a bridge too far. So I kept both and figured that people could use them however they wanted.
The thing is, when I created the Feed page I thought of a few items to put on it, and then I thought to myself, "I expect that DUers will have some good ideas for things to put on this page when they see it." I hope people understand that the release of the new software is just beginning of the process -- I want to continue to make adjustments, fixes, and improvements going forward and I'm happy to take suggestions.
So if anyone has any ideas for things that might be useful on the Feed page, let me know...
