Related: About this forumLinking the same O.P.'s posts in multiple forums
If a thread is opened in multiple forums, each one may have different responders so readers would have to find each of these to see all the replies. Is there any way to change the system to allow users to open a single thread in more than one forum so that readers who see it in one forum will be replying to a common thread or at least see all the replies no matter what forum they see the question on?

(13,941 posts)Posting a link to it, perhaps with a short description, in others.
Thoughts?

(18,580 posts)It, for sure, is possible to post multiple instances of the same content.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

(18,580 posts)I see different urls, the numbers at the end are different.
The are different view counts for each of those.
You can reply to either or both.
Wonder Why
(4,590 posts)to have it known that these were the same (there is no indication of that in the posts)
to allow a user to see all replies to both without having to go to both
to allow a user to post to both automatically by posting to one.
The way it is now, you may not know there are two separate threads with two separate sets of answers for the same thing. Even if you did, you would have to do some work to find it. Then you have two read two sets of responses. Lastly, you would have to post two separate responses yourself if you wanted to address the issue and have everyone see it. This is especially important if someone has a question and you have a potentially helpful answer.

(18,580 posts)For example, the instances you linked, GD and Florida, someone has a bit news of general appeal but maybe also of interest to a specific group. A big enough news story like something about climate or economic impact but also of interest to a narrow group such as a geographic or issue group, could make use of this. This function (based in GD) could automatically add a second thread to group like First Americans or Automobile Enthusiasts and add a link to each to the cross-post, identical in content but in a second place on the site.
Sorry, I don't see a way to merge those 2 with all the replies in one place.
You should suggest that the admins.
