It is odd because on most other sites it is responding if I change the text size there. But overall the text on my ipad in safari is smaller now.

When I clicked to post this the message saying it will post was pretty large too, strange.

I am on an ipad mini. When I go into settings and look at Safari there is no way to change the text size- the only way to change the text size for each website is apparently zoom and I have it at 300% here which may be why when I post some thing and then it sends me the message that it’s posting that looks like it’s at 300% so strange.

There are settable preferences for:

Preferred format for regular web browsers
Preferred format for mobile devices

I have to set the mobile preference to mobile or I have tiny fonts on my Android phone.

Perhaps fiddling with these may solve this.

It usually is at mobile automatically on my ipad everywhere and then I have to select desktop if I want that also done on the AA type zoom thing at the top left It’s very annoying because I have to do it at least two or three times before it goes to desktop.

Often with many sites you can’t even tell the difference but with sites like YouTube that makes a difference between having the video display large without option to read comments and do other things and display smaller with all of the controls.

* i just went there and it was set to request desktop because I can do that to and usually prefer it. Then I did switch back-and-forth between desktop and mobile. When I set it to mobile it did seem to improve a tiny bit but the body type and all other type id is still very small and I don’t know why. I am going to take a screenshot of what it looks like with the message when I post this reply and try to post that here. That type is clearly larger maybe at about 300% here which is what I selected on the zoom to try to enlarge it.

I don’t have a hosting site for images so I’m not sure if I can do that- the site never allows you to post any images except in your avatar which was extremely difficult for me to figure out how to do my own avatar p- it had to be done only on the desktop which I finally figured out after a few years when I read someone’s post that said that. I asked here at least once but non one told me I could do it on a desktop only. There was also a crazy requirement for the image to be so tiny that when I adjusted it to the required dimensions most of the images were so pixelated you could barely see them in the avatar.

EDIT: I see you found it and apparently it didn't help. I'm out of suggestions.

Login to DU

Go to MY ACCOUNT (a link on the top right of the DU page)

Part way down that page is a section titled PREFERENCES

The third and forth lines in that section are

Preferred format for regular web browsers
Preferred format for mobile devices

Each line has choices of "Standard | Classic | Mobile"

Checking the setting for mobile devices is where I'd start. It should be mobile.

If that doesn't help, it is worth trying changing the setting for web browsers to mobile in the off chance that DU you is not properly recognizing your device.

Good Luck

I did that however in order to see the menu on the left and the full DU I have to set the setting for regular web browsers to standard and then the type just goes small again and will not respond to my zoom- it is very odd I have to have the setting for mobile devices to mobile and I think the other one to classic or mobile in order for the type to be larger and respond to my zoom and then I can’t see the menu on the left-hand side which I find confusing.

This only happened the day that I first post about this so I was not having this problem before and I don’t know what is going on. I hope someone can help figure it out. I’ve never had a problem with the type being tiny here before.

It doesn’t seem to be happening on other websites either which is strange. I also have never adjusted anything on those settings before as I recall.

In mobile mode the left hand menu is not there in order to fit the phone screen better.

I just hit the forums and groups tab when in mobile to get that menu.

I tried doing that but it just looks so different. I’m used to having the menu at the left which I like so I don’t know what I’m going to do. I either have to adjust to having the smaller type and maybe get stronger glasses for this website only LOL or get used to the mobile version. I just don’t understand why this suddenly happened without me doing anything- it has to be something to do with Safari maybe. I am going to call Apple and see what they say. Ty for your help anyway 😀

Here is a pic of what the type size is when i post something and get the post message, there it is still zoomed large.

* well unfortunately that did not work when I posted the html from a site recommended for images 😔 I don’t understand where they won’t allow posting those small images directly here because the linking has never worked for me.
