Halp! For the last week or so, posted photos are not always showing up on either phone or laptop

even from DUers I'm used to seeing photos from. I just see that little placeholder box instead.

Example:
https://www.democraticunderground.com/103688962
Can see on both devices, as always.

https://www.democraticunderground.com/12085422
Cannot see on either device, unlike before and this example holds true with other, recent DU postings too.

Any ideas? Is it a toggle somewhere that got flipped or some other simple thing? I'm using Chrome on phone and Firefox on laptop. We did get a new Century Link modem last week that might correlate with this problem. It HAS been a major network headache from day one.

Rebooting corrects it, but you may have a different problem. I close any browser before the reboot.

those photos on my phone. That tells me it's something to do with the way that damn new CL modem/gateway is talking with our device(s). We've had nothing but problems and inconsistent/contradictory support from Century Link.

I still don't understand why I can see some posted photos, WiFi or not, though I think I know where to poke around now.

5. No S/W application can handle every combination of devices and configurations.

Amazing things work as well as they do. After almost 40 years of designing simulation S/W I learned no amount of testing will uncover all the bugs.

This could mean that there is a DNS issue with your provider or other issues with the path to a site. Have you tried a reboot on your router and modem?

7. Thanks. We haven't rebooted it since discovering the photo issue recently, but will do.

Related, I'm sure, is our printer doesn't talk with the modem/router either, preventing printing, though the printer does "see" it. Last week the same thing was happening with YouTube/Netflix through our TV, though that subsequently fixed itself. ???dont know why???

This Luddite is damn near the limits of his declining technical skills but I can still play Irish tunes on the fiddle - which sounds like a good thing to go do about now.
