Is there a quick way for me to view my password without going through the process of "changing" my password via reset? I don't want to change it, I just want to see it so I can write it down in my password book. I'll need it tomorrow when I log in from a new computer I just purchased on line.

(7,811 posts)went to settings and there are no "tools" showing on panels, so i keyed Tools in the search bar.. it brought up some interesting things to look at, but not the task related to this matter. I'll press on, though. Thanks!

(18,119 posts)I don't know squat about Chromebook.
You need to open the internet browser (Chrome?) and look for the settings. I have Chrome on my Android phone and can get to the passwords Chrome has saved.
Another possibility is that your password is saved in Google Accounts.

(7,811 posts)I've been accustomed recently to use the google suggested password, which is about a mile long with a million random characters, i just click on save and it never gets written down. If that's how it worked out, I won't need to jump through more hoops. But I just don't remember how I did it on this computer which was new the last time I established the current password.
Oh well.. onward! thanks!

(26,727 posts)they were no good because they invariably contained special characters not allowed at that site.
I come up with my own password, write it down, and tell my computer to save it. Since I use both a laptop and a desktop, sometimes I forget to get the new password saved on the other computer, and sometimes that causes no end of hassle.

(7,811 posts)So in my attempt to avoid screwing up the existing password, I went to my DU account to have a looksie to jot it down in advance of logging in to my new computer (expected tomorrow night) .
But it's hidden and don't see a way to un-hide it.
