DU Community Help
Related: About this forumCan anyone tell me what a "locked thread" is?
My post to an article about the Argentine submarine tragedy (group: Latin America) failed because the thread was "locked." Returned to home page and the article had been disappeared. Have not encountered this on DU before. Was able to post my reply re this subject to a similar post in the same group, but am still puzzled. Thank you for your help.

(60,499 posts)for posts in the Late Breaking News area, care is needed - if it has already been posted, a repeat post will be locked - but it is fine to repost it in General Discussion.
Duplicate posts are the main reason posts get locked - off topic for the forum the other.
Once it gets locked, it can't be commented upon - but it can be posted elsewhere in a more suitable area.

(470 posts)That makes perfect sense, I believe both of the original articles were exactly similar, and in the same group forum, one had about eight or ten current replies and the other had no replies. Such a shame because the replies to the post I originally responded to were quite informative.

(470 posts)But the "first" article that was "locked" is gone, it cannot be found, nor its original replies to it. Unless my ability to find things is gone as well, along with the hair at the top of my head.

(470 posts)I worked with submarines in the Navy, thus my interest. Thanks, DonViejo, for trashing what may have possibly been my best post to date. (Just kidding, I understand completely.)
Thanks to all for your time and assistance.
