I would like to have a picture of my Scottish terrier as my avatar. Is there a way to do this?

(135,425 posts)Thanks for the information. I paid and now have my own avatar--Scottish Terrier. I noticed you have a Westie as your avatar. Do you have a Westie? We had one for nine years and he was wonderful, but had many allergies. After five years without him, we still love him. There is no other dog like a Westie. We now have Mollie, a Scottish terrier that we also love for many other reasons. Thanks again.

(135,425 posts)They're wonderful companions--sporty and agreeable so long as there's something going on--a ride in the car, a walk on the beach, lazing around chasing toys and watching TV, etc.
The allergies can usually be managed (even eliminated) by careful attention to diet. Some dogs are grain sensitive, so if you reduce or eliminate grain intake (rice and oatmeal usually go down well as part of an omnivore diet) you can often get those allergies gone-gone-gone!
Our Westie developed a problem digesting regular food. His stools were always loose and he lost hair. We ended up giving him Science Diet dog food and a drug, Atopica, that worked. One of the things I loved about him was his smile. So energetic and full of personality!

(101 posts)You're a lucky guy! Wish you could post a picture of your Westie. I'd post one of my Scottish terrier, Mollie, but I don't know how to do it. Do you know how?

(135,425 posts)store pictures, then post the URL to the photo. You can't "drag and drop" -- the photo has to be hosted elsewhere.
I was able to save my picture to Photobucket, but how do you post the URL to the photo?
MADem
(135,425 posts)and to your right you will see a series of URLs for the photo--just do the DIRECT copy one--copy it, and put the link here in the body of your message.

(222,072 posts)You can sign up for a free account, then upload your photo to Photobucket, then post the link that says Direct here on DU. I'd suggest previewing it first to make sure it came out as you'd like. I often edit mine for size before posting. Anyway, that's what I do...
