"There will be a increased law enforcement .., including federal agents"

Posted this in GD with the thread title:

Cop strongly implies Occupy presence means increased terrorism threat; Federal agents at parade

This is from a story on the SoCal Occupy Fights Foreclosures march at the end of the Rose Parade this week. Deserves its own thread and consideration. Especially since Wells Fargo sponsored last years' parade (I do not yet know who did this one).

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-occupy-rose-parade-20130101,0,7679289.story

A 15-foot-high float, with "Mr. Monopoly" riding a red wagon, will wheel its way down the 5.5-mile route at the conclusion of the parade, organizers said. The board game character, intended to represent bankers, will have strings attached to participants who are on the verge of losing their homes or have lost their homes to foreclosure.

snip

There will be an increased law enforcement presence, including federal agents, at the 2013 parade because of the Occupy demonstration, Sanchez said.

"The big thing we'd like to get out there is that if someone sees something, they should say something," Sanchez said. "It's the best way we can prevent something from occurring."

(Look at those last two paragraphs, which compress into: "There will be an increased LE presence including Federal agents...because of...Occupy. It's the best way we can prevent something from occurring." Meaning they expect Occupy to do terrorist acts, or at minimum, want to make people scared of Occupy doing terrorist acts.)

(More at the link. For those who do not believe there is Federal level monitoring and "concern" regarding Occupy. For those who do not believe they consider us terrorists or potential terrorists. For those who do not understand that this is the neocon victory of post 9/11 power grabs via the TERROR hotbutton, that Americans are now "terrorists" so that they can continue shoving their fingers ever more deeply into our government and enforcement systems. "See something, say something" is DHS paranoia, fear, uncertainty, doubt engineering. FUCK YOU PETER KING, Where's my democracy?)

Not Memorex, or puppetry.

They should be jealous. The difference between lightning, and the lightning bug, Twain would call it.

It seems Occupy gets bad press and/or gets beaten by the police in full riot gear.

and BG doesn't show-up to fight back. They are just beginning to realize that no one takes them seriously.

Now if they let me, I'll put that energy to better use.

"Rose Parade Arrests 2013: 40 People Arrested, Almost All For Public Intoxication "

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/02/rose-parade-arrests-2013-40-people-arrested-public-intoxication_n_2399003.html

There's nothing about any arrests of Occupy or any conflict. However, one article said Occupy had to go last, the worst spot in the parade. Huffington Post said Occupy marched AFTER the parade.

#4 is a picture of Occupy in the parade

7. Chalk is more dangerous than guns.

I know of a lady She has a kitten. She helps her run for sheriff. Kitty for Sheriff is the slogan. She was given a citation for carrying chalk near an occupy event. She was also told that she wasn't allowed on the premises where the occupy events were occurring. I have a hard time believing this is real. But, the PTB really are more afraid of chalk than guns.

11. I made the argument that tents = free speech.

It gets very cold in Minnesota. Many of the Occupiers had tents. The county made up rules banning tents on county property. Well, it is difficult if not impossible to protest in Minnesota weather without tents, therefore tents = free speech.

The chalk thing is a no brainer. It doesn't equal vandalism as it will wash away naturally or with a cup of water. So, I don't understand the county getting bent over the use of chalk. It doesn't matter anyway the day after the Kitty For Sheriff lady was cited a big group of people I dunno how many perhaps a hundred showed up with chalk and chalked the entire grounds of the Government Center.

We the Occupiers need federal protection, not the other way around. This is a civil rights movement. It's the right wing nut jobs that show up at our events that we need protection from. God forbid they start shooting at us.

weren't, then provided documents proving they were, then they began ransacking activists' apartments for "literature" as well as offering bomb-making materials to the disenfranchised. That, and 7400+ of us beaten and bloodied by militarized police and not a word out of the White House.

We need protection from the Government, period.
