Might want to do a meetup when we get there, if anyone on DU is going. Feel free to ask around on GD...

(12,875 posts)I was out of the loop too, I thought it had been "cancelled" because of the partial crackdown on the two DC Occupy's. But that's because I assumed it was "in March" when in fact it's on for March 30. Ach, buses would be nice if we could get Occupy's to coordinate with, say, labor unions perhaps...
They hope it'll be like Resurrection City (MLK's last march, which was a camp-out on the Mall for the Poor People's campaign.
That's when they made camping in DC illegal -- see the fictionalized documentary Medium Cool)
If the number of people that came out for the counter-dedication ceremony for the MLK memorial is any judge (counter to the "official" corporate-sponsored dedication that happened a day later) at the start of the DC occupy, it should be possible to get a large number of people involved.
So... whaddaya think? Folks who are going could PM those of us who are interested here on OU... I actually don't know anything about meetups or the privacy issues involved in organizing meetups on a site like DU in context of an activist-oriented event I know Unrepentant Liberal had some ideas about this...
