These gas prices are almost as bad as the job market: Hawaii gas prices continue climb higher into record territory

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Gas prices in Hawaii are continuing to climb after reaching a new record high earlier this month.

According to AAA Hawaii, the current average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Hawaii is $5.65.

“In Hawaii, gas prices jumped three cents in a week, 71 cents in a month, and a dollar and 13 cents in a year,” AAA Hawaii spokesperson Kandace Redd told Hawaii News Now.

In Honolulu, the average price at the pump was a little lower at $5.60, still well above the average of $4.43 a year ago.
