"There were contacts," Interfax cited Ryabkov as saying. "We are doing this and have been doing this during the election campaign."
Such contacts would continue, he added, saying the Russian government knew and had been in touch with many of Trump's closest allies. He did not name names.
"Obviously, we know most of the people from his (Trump's)entourage. Those people have always been in the limelight in the United States and have occupied high-ranking positions," he said.

(22,240 posts)MSM pretty much ignored the it then. I think, given what we know now, it is much more significant than it appeared back then. One only needs to connect the dots to think it highly likely Trump campaign aware of hacking from before the election. Rudy Giuliani almost hinted so to Fox news when he said they had some things up their sleeves. Intel must know a lot more. Question is why haven't they moved on Trump in much stronger ways?

(22,240 posts)Due to legal precedents it is not likely treason from what I understand.
Although it fits the constitutional definition this action did not occur with an enemy during a declared war. But I agree with you that Trump has committed a grievous crime.
I am bewildered with the response of democrats in general, the Obama administration and the Clinton campaign (though it would look foolish if it were only her campaign).

(10,291 posts)misdemeanors...THIS certainly rises to treason

(22,240 posts)Very hard to get conviction without declaration of war.
So I suggested sedition or possibly violation of Logan Act.

with the Russians on this even though they were in communication with them.
They wouldn't think about it! Tongue in cheek.

(9,359 posts)have concluded that Russia hacked DNC servers and put out emails.
I believe those intelligence agencies when they say this.
I also believe the intelligence agencies, DOJ, President Obama and anyone with actual knowledge of voting machines when they say that you have to be in the presence of a voting machine to hack it and that there is absolutely no evidence any such machines were hacked.
Anyone who currently believes this either has greater knowledge that US intelligence agencies or is a complete nutjob looking for the shooter on the grassy knoll but only when taking a break from being probed by aliens or swept up by black helicopters.
LaydeeBug
(10,291 posts)Because they were in touch each and every day. Russia and Trump's camp.
Because those machines CAN ABSOLUTELY BE HACKED. And it's not like we've gotten to examine them, so nice try on that one. No dice though
Because you want me to believe that they hacked away, AND THEN THEY STOPPED THERE?
Good Grief.

(9,359 posts)on the internet peddling conspiracy theory bullshit with absolutely zero evidence, but not actual public figures that belong to my party and actually have to deal with the consequences and their public reputations if there is even a hint of this being true?
I know who I believe.
But keep trying, buddy. You might feel more at home at one of those birther or truthers websites.
I also love the way you peddle half truths by saying "those machines CAN ABSOLUTELY BE HACKED" and you are only half right, they can only be hacked if you are in the presence of the machine. If you're saying they can be remotely hacked, then provide proof from a first hand expert of the machines in question, because every first hand expert when asked has put their name out there and said it is impossible to do it remotely.

(10,291 posts)on the internet arguing with that YOU are defining a conspiracy theorist...
edited to add: that YOU are the one telling the half truth...Who says they weren't in the presence of the machine? YOU? How does remote access to a voting machine even need to be necessary?
Cash needed to be present...and this has been going on for a long time.
Sorry you thought that was a hoop to jump through...

(9,359 posts)In Bucks County PA there is 304 polling locations with a total of around 1500 voting machines.
You would need thousands of people to hack the machines in question across three states in order to turn the election.
LaydeeBug
(10,291 posts)304 voting places, with more than one machine...you only need one or two in key spots, and it doesn't even have to be Bucks County.
But you keep conflating...

(9,359 posts)PA is not that segregated until you get to the city. The suburbs of PA are more integrated than the suburbs of Chicago, NYC or LA.
But you keep conflating .... with your lack of proof.

(9,359 posts)To do it for all the machines in the county would take four months, said Dr. Shamos.
It would also have to be done undetected in a warehouse that is under surveillance 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2016/11/07/election-day-pennsylvania-voting-machines/
So, it would take one person four months to hack 4500 machines to switch the votes after the fact in just one county. By the time one person was done, it would be February, and that's if they're working 24 hours a day 7 days a week. 80% of PA counties use these machines, all in the most heavily populated areas.

(9,359 posts)If you bothered reading the article the chips are removed upon arrival and stored in another location. Can't hack something that isn't there.
LaydeeBug
(10,291 posts)You make a LOT of assuming...like every machine in every area in the entire county would have to be hacked. That isn't so.
You're welcome.
