Well, well, well! It would seem that 66M of us were not played like a fiddle, but more importantly, with the questions about tRump so obvious to us, why didn't the M$M call tRump out of his deception before the election? Just goes to show that we cannot depend on our media to inform, at least not the RW rags and Russian promoted un-news that was being disseminated.

Comparing Trump’s criticisms of Clinton to his behavior now



Donald Trump spent the past two years attacking rival Hillary Clinton as crooked, corrupt, and weak.

But some of those attacks seem to have already slipped into the history books.

From installing Wall Street executives in his Cabinet to avoiding news conferences, the president-elect is adopting some of the same behavior for which he criticized Clinton during their fiery presidential campaign.

Here’s a look at what Trump said then – and what he’s doing now:

GOLDMAN SACHS
Then: “I know the guys at Goldman Sachs,” Trump said at a South Carolina rally in February, when he was locked in a fierce primary battle with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. “They have total, total control over him. Just like they have total control over Hillary Clinton.”

Now: A number of former employees of the Wall Street bank will pay a key role in crafting Trump’s economic policy. He’s tapped Goldman Sachs president Gary Cohn to lead the White House National Economic Council. Steven Mnuchin, the Treasury secretary nominee, spent 17 years working at Goldman Sachs and Steve Bannon, Trump’s chief strategist and senior counselor, started his career as an investment banker at the firm.

Then: “Crooked Hillary. Look, can you imagine another four years of the Clintons? Seriously. It’s time to move on. And she’s totally controlled by Wall Street and all these people that gave her millions,” Trump said at a May rally in Lynden, Washington.

Now: Trump has stocked his Cabinet with six top donors – far more than any recent White House. “I want people that made a fortune. Because now they’re negotiating with you, OK?” Trump said, in a December 9 speech in Des Moines.

The biggest giver? Incoming small business administrator Linda McMahon gave $7.5 million to a super PAC backing Trump, more than a third of the money collected by the political action committee... - PBS

Their media keeps them insulated, at least the ones who follow any media. Many I talked to don't follow politics at all. They just wanted to shake things up because, get this, they were tired of the corruption in Washington.

I have been breaking the news to them posing as a disgruntled Trump supporter. When you do it that way they agree and get mad at him and the Republicans. I make sure to add that Rush, Hannity, Savage, Jones, and Fox lied to us to feather their nest! These Trump supporters will believe conspiracies! The funny thing is I am manipulating them with the truth!

I tried lashing out at them and all it got me was a "We won MF!" This way works much better. I say we engage Trump/Republican supporters this way and take away their base!!!

As I've written elsewhere, Trump won't experience a dent in his support if he fails to make good on his campaign promises (from bringing millions of jobs back to "better" free trade agreements to destroying ISIS to withdrawing from the Paris Agreement). But imagine for a moment what would happen to Trump and Republicans in Congress if they came out in favor of Black Lives Matter, a path to citizenship, LGBTQ rights, etc. Even if they maintained their position on abortion and gun control, the GOP would implode. Bigotry, particularly racism, is the tie that binds.

She wasn't that old-little older than me-60 something-southern accent-she "met" some guy from a foreign country on match.com-actually never met him at all-and gave him her life savings-$250k. were not bamboozled by this man.

Unfortunately, most, possibly all of those who were bamboozled by him, are addicted to their televisions. Whether they watch Fox, or another network, they think that what they see on that screen represents reality. They couldn't be more wrong.

I haven't had television, broadcast, cable, or satellite, in over eight years now, since a relocation after a divorce made it a financial decision to do without. To be honest, I originally thought of this as an experiment, something temporary. After all, about four different times in my life I'd been without TV, but always went back. I assumed it would be the same this time.

But as the weeks, then the months, and then the years passed, I found I simply didn't miss it. I could watch most of what I wanted on the internet, especially breaking news. When something happens, local TV stations often go to live streaming, and I've watched plenty of events that way.

For about five years, any time I was in a hotel room I'd watch TV, although I always found the commercials annoying. Yes, that's the best benefit of no TV. No commercials. Recently, as in the past 2 or 3 years, I've noticed that the TV in my hotel room has become invisible, and I don't ever turn it on.

And I honestly think I'm better informed than most. I wake up to Amy Goodman every morning. I listen to BBC news. Terry Gross. Diane Rehm. I read. Mostly books, but also my local newspaper.

Back in the mid-70's, the other longest period without TV, that lasted probably six years, a co-worker was convinced that because I didn't watch TV I wouldn't have any idea what was going on in the world. So periodically he'd quiz me, and he was always astonished to learn that not only did I know what was going on, but I often knew more than was typically reported in the media.

So if you want to remain ignorant, continue to watch the news, whatever source you prefer. Okay, some I'm exaggerating a bit here, but more than once here on DU I've seen complaints about some relatively trivial news story taking over the news outlets. Turn the damn thing off! Read a book. Watch a National Geographic special. Go for a walk. Trust me, you'll be vastly better off.

Even Mitt Romney made his famous indictment of Trump last winter, calling him a con man and a fraud. The less said about Mittens' subsequent Trump ass kissing, the better.

The only former president planning to attend Trump's inauguration is Jimmy Carter. The Bushes want nothing to do with The Donald. And I'm sure Bill would not risk Hillary's ire if he attended.
