I think it's important for any Postmortem discussion.....

That all involved have at least read the Democratic Party Platform. Our guide for Democratic Party members and what is overall expected. It is considered to be one of the most progressive platforms we have had. I personally believe it is an excellent blueprint. We are the party of the left. We are the progressive party. We have a great message. I highly doubt many have read it.

It's very progressive. Hope we promote it big time. Here's a link to an interactive version online: think Dec 2016 #5

Start an op about it. Not sure what your reply has to do with the platform. Just another TLDR for some. Hint: It's not long.

One would literally have to want to get juried out of this place. Maybe a progressive board isn't your place. I'm not sure how else to respond. Such strange replies. Persecution complex.

Please bring your conversation here to ATA. You are hijacking.

analyzing campaign strategy and tactics, problems with the media, and things that could be done better next time. The platform is fine; the focus should be on how to persuade voters in upcoming elections that the goals and values of the Democratic party are beneficial to everyone.

I still think, from reading many of the comments, that a majority have never read the platform. I do see it as significant in a postmortem discussion when that aspect has bee repeatedly misrepresented.

Your point stands on strong ground and I am not dismissing it.

That's a document that meets all the requirements of urban/identity politics and in the process presses every button of the people who live in fly-over country. But as a unifying document it leaves a lot to be desired. There's nothing wrong with the ideals expressed if the only objective is to rally the base, but I think we need to cast a broader net if we're to have any hope of retaking the House and some of the state legislatures that seem to have slipped irretrievably into Republican hands. I live in Washington, which has been a reliably blue state, but the Republicans now control the state senate and 4 House seats. Politics isn't about party platforms. It's about winning elections, something we haven't been very good at for some time now.

Yes, some won't like it. But I suspect most Americans would.

We need to be more vocal and stand tall.
