What do we do now? How do we convert Trump voters? What is the plan going forward?

Most of America agrees with most of the views Democrats hold. For some reason, the messaging screws it all up.

Only about half of Americans voted and over half of the ones that did voted for Hillary.

We need to ignore the Trump voters and focus on the other 75% of the country.

We need to energize America with stronger and more inclusive messages.

These messages should come from many places and with many different focuses. The basic idea is... this is your government. Now, let's own it.

The next two years should be focused on the local and state level. If people experience positive change locally, they will become believers and be motivated to support change nationally.

We have 75% of America to work with.

What to do about his supporters. I can only hope that if he gets his way in policy, that his supporters will feel the pain and understand that they caused this, and vote better when they get a chance.

A year from now, the orange man will have proven to all what we now know. At least we are forewarned. Come December, 2017 we can start showing them a better way.

They think that the PRO-BUSINESS Republican Party is going to force businesses to get rid of all their low waged immigrant workers and hire THEM for $25/hour jobs

The solution is not to convert them but to get ALL DEMOCRATS to come out and support the DEMOCRATIC candidates

He's an anomaly. The real issue is all the races we've been losing for 8 years or more. The state houses, the Senate, those kinds of things. As you suggest, we have a "majority" in many ways, we just need to learn to believe in it and make it our message. Minimum wage wins big around the country. Pot legalization is moving in the favorable direction. There are good signs all around but we have to start to believe in the message and actually run on it, instead of being afraid of it and trying to out do the GOP at their own game.

And we definitely need to start supporting the union movement again.

Key is to run a candidate that doesn't wind up so intensely disliked.

Let's not rush in and save them from themselves and their losses of Obamacare, Medicare, Social Security, etc. Let them feel threatened by the loss of those programs.

Also, I don't see how we change the narrative without having our own media network. Faux Noise plays a YUUUUUGE role in politics and influences a large number of the rural and Trump-voting population. We need to de-program these people with the truth.

We need a media sugar daddy or mama who can help us with marketing, messaging, and advancing the Democratic argument.

Al Gore had the right idea, he just had poor implementation. We need a visionary.

...We could export Californians to red states. A measly million Angelenos scattered to Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin and it's lights out for the GOP. And we still win California by over a million and a half votes!
