I'm determined to find a balance between doing what I can to fight back in my limited circumstances and keep my mental health.

I'm expecting a rerun of the late '60s, at least the way I remember them. Domestically (USA ) anyway.

Maintaining that balance will be important and a challenge for many of us.

The late 60s is not a bad analogy -- Cold War, Vietnam, Kent State, Chicago Seven, Bobby Kennedy, MLK, Civil Rights coming to a head, etc. But I fear this situation may be worse. We've never had anyone like Trump as President -- and a GOP controlled Congress. I don't think we've ever been this divided in my lifetime, and the divisions seem to be intensifying.

And the Democratic Party is deeply divided right now. We need to pull together somehow ... if the party will let us do that. I'm not confident.

I'm right there with you ... and it seems like there are many others here on both sides of this Party debate that's going on here at DU. We're all emotionally engaged right now.

People will be in the streets often, and I plan to be with them. Been over 40 years since I smelled tear gas, but maybe it's time to do it again.

niece, and her husband will be coming to my house for Christmas festivities. They know I was all in for Hillary. Believe you me they do not want to get me started. If my niece says to me "I see that pos Hillary lost." Ill retort "well there are lots of stupid people in this country and, unfortunately, they vote! Also, you say Hillary is a pos because that's what your mother and father say. By the way get your news somewhere besides the Fixx Propaganda Channel." They do not want to ryle me up!!😡😝

Living in a remote rural town is an impediment. I will have to travel to do so -- but I do intend to become more of an activist than I have over the past 45 years.

We need to be consistent and strong about that -- ynless or until he proves otherwise, which is extremely doubtful.

I plan to be more politically active in the future.

If there's any good that comes out of a Trump Presidency, I hope lots of other people feel the same way.

Been protesting since college. At least back in those days, there was always a feeling of forward motion. Now we're fighting against going backward. Hope to see a lot of people wake up and fight these bastards.

I'm kinda expecting that especially since the asshole anarchists et al always ruin peaceful protests.

mostly from the 60's & 70's, Students for a Democratic Society. Weathermen, Black Panthers, ect... Learning what worked and what didn't. We lost that revolution and things have gone downhill ever since. We can't afford a complete fascist takeover of this country.

You are absolutely right. We can't afford and absolutely must stop this fascist takeover.

As a 66 year old, I feel I owe it to my young adult kids and future generations to pick up where the 60s/70s left off and make things right.

We can do it! Especially us older retired folks -- we can take to the streets wherever we are and be a presence. We owe it to everyone. This will be our legacy -- whichever way it turns out.
