So I want to know if electors deem Trump incompetent or that the election was hacked how could they

vote for a third party in good conscience? Hillary won the election by almost 3 million votes! And some say they will vote for Kasich?

These electors that will do that are saying that they believe the republicans won legitimately and they get to pick who they want. It pisses me off.

The other thing is aren't there a lot of Democratic electors that will vote for Hillary? If Hillary got 38 more electoral votes , (from any state I am assuming) then should would win right?

Looking for some ideas about this... Thanks peeps!

They are the only ones named by the press. Those are of course Dem states. Who knows what they are going to do now. But I have a guess.

Are same-state electors talking to each other?

Are individual electors worried about indirect reprisals if they vote against Trump and their vote doesn't change anything?

If the independent electors vote, will they either abstain or vote for another republican? If the latter, who?

If the electors don't vote for Trump, will they be immediately replaced by someone who will?

I'll be so glad when people at DU stop fantasizing something else will happen.

Since Reagan pronounced that "government won't fix the problem, government is the problem", Republicans have been working around the clock to prove him right. Seems like they have finally found the guy who can really get it done.

As long as he's still white, still misogynistic, and still racist - he's their man.

They will do so enthusiastically.

How is it everyone is deluding themselves into thinking that Republican electors are somehow morally troubled about voting for Donald Trump? Rest assured, they're not. The GOP will enter Washington DC early next year the most powerful it has ever been; in control of a majority of statehouses, state legislatures, the senate, the house and the presidency. A vacancy on the Supreme Court and three liberal or swing justices 78 or older.

State electors are partisan Republicans. They don't care that Hillary won the popular vote. They don't care about allegations of Russian funny business, if they believe it at all. They hate Martin Sheen. They can't stand Hotlips Houlihan. They don't even know who the rest of those people in that silly video even are, but they're laughing their asses off at them anyways.

Donald Trump is forming the most conservative cabinet this country has ever seen and everyone one with an (R) after their name, from the President down to the local dog catcher is salivating at the opportunity to undo decades of progressive legislation, and these partisan, vetted Republican electors are looking forward to nothing more than being part of this juggernaut.

Honestly, I'll be surprised if there is more than a single faithless GOP elector so I wouldn't worry too much if this individual unfairly votes for Romney or Kasich over Hillary "but she won the popular vote!!!" Clinton. It's just not going to happen.

I find it rather embarrassing and deluded--and sad--how a good number of people think this will occur. Not saying it's not ok to have hope, but one really should be realistic. The hope is WAY out of proportion to the likelihood. The gop are being very diligent and vigilant about how their electors will vote. There is only that 1 guy and I predict he will be the only 1, and perhaps not even that, the TX gop are working to try to replace him before tomorrow's vote.

Unfortunately, I just can't see that there will be more than 1 or 2 Trump electors changing their votes. Does anyone think there might be any blue state electors who might switch to Bernie as a symbolic gesture?

If they unclogged their ears, they might not vote for tRump, but they neither hear that he lost the popular vote, nor that he is seriously, actually wacko, nor that he's doing the opposite of his promised swamp-draining, nor that he is an international incident waiting to happen, nor that he ... you name it.

There are also a couple of so-called Democrats in the EC who don't want to vote for Clinton.

I despise the Hamilton Electors as chickenshits.

Only Clinton or Trump is a legitimate candidate for the EC. A third party nullifies the votes of 130-plus MiILLION people. A Kasich or a Romney or a Ryan or someone else would be totally illegitimate.

It is simply easier to remove Trump if necessary once he is installed as president.

HRC should be selected, but these partisan idiots will not hear of it.
