Related: About this forumWhy Did White Men Vote Against Russ Feingold ?
White Men Voted for Ron Johnson over 60 percent and only 36 percent went for Feingold
White Women pretty much split evenly between Feingold and Johnson.
Black Women were Feingold's largest supporters with about 90 percent of their votes.
one of the more interesting is the question asking about international trade. Feingold won among those who see trade as a positive. and Johnson won among those who view trade as negative. I think this is because many people associate trade with Race . and sees it as those coloreds taking away from them.

(90,462 posts)both candidates have an actual record on the issue.
and Ron Johnson doesn't try to deny his position on the issue either. he isn't like Trump . he is openly in favor of it.

(13,882 posts)I can only surmise that many Ds had their votes suppressed and some Repub women voted for Clinton and not for Feingold which would explain why he lost by a larger margin than she did.

(57,413 posts)Many seem to feel that the country and top-of-the-heap entitlements are their birth right, and the working class among them resent that the straight-out-of-high school, high paying, unionized jobs they've had for generations have been off-shored or automated, with some remaining ones even being held by blacks and other POCs.
That resentment apparently numbed some brain cells as they participated in, starting in the Reagan's era, with the demolition of the very unions that built those factory wages up to solid middle class ones.
Apparently those union dues being automatically taken out of their paychecks was too much to bear so they voted repeatedly for repugs whose clients were the very corporate bigwigs who were weakening unions and off-shoring and automating their jobs.
But being against trade issues is too little, too late now as those jobs are long gone and not coming back andTrump, who they also voted for and claims to be against the TPP, has his clothing lines made in China, Bangladesh and India.
Go figure.
I know one thing though, those white male repug voters need to smarten up and pay attention to who is doing what to them, and without any lube even.
