We need to regain trust and not among white males.

One of our problems is we work too hard trying to hold onto their trust at the expense of those who progressives should be listening to most and asking to lead. We have taken the black vote for granted for too long. Often even speaking about it as if we own it. While the percentages are in our favor that isn't saying much considering our opponents are the white peoples party.

I think we can and have walked and chewed gum before. The current rhetoric about the white working class economic voter, which you would never know from these parts that Clinton won, is further alienating our base. Our efforts need to focus on those who suffer most from systemic oppression and those who need protections most. Many minorities have lost trust in us for good reason and we need to get them to the ballot box in larger numbers. We need to give them greater reason.

Freedom Rider: Black Fear in the Age of Trump

Having accepted the unacceptable and defended the indefensible when it came from Democrats, Blacks must now confront the white people’s president, Donald Trump. As in dark days of the past, we must cast off fear and cast out Black misleaders who are loyal only to themselves. “Creating political crisis should be the order of the day. That has always been the game changer, not necessarily getting Democrats into office instead of Republicans.”

Black Americans were lost and politically helpless before Election Day in 2016. Having a black Democrat in the presidency hid a multitude of sins. As a group we have lost jobs, the little wealth we had, and literally our lives and freedom from the police state. Donald Trump’s election just made what was already true crystal clear.

The victory of a Republican is always cause for some degree of panic among black people. They are, after all, the white people’s party and their ascension creates anxiety among us.

Assuming that I'm a republican because I'm white is racist. Saying the Democratic party doesn't need to address my concerns because I'm white. Apparently you feel that white people can't be victims of racism or else you wouldn't be requiring proof of it from me .

You do realize that people of all colors voted republicon this time around? It isn't just a white people's party.

"Assuming that I'm a republican because I'm white is racist."

That wouldn't be racist. Maybe you can elsbotate on why you think it is. Just saying racist again is not elaboration. I'm always willing to listen to personal critique in this area. I also never stated what you say I did.

"Saying the Democratic party doesn't need to address my concerns because I'm white."

You want to talk about concerns not being addressed, read the link.

"It isn't just a white people's party."

Yes, it overwhelmingly is.

Be any clearer than that.
Saying djt is my president cause I'm white is racist

And The article doesn't say the republicons party is overwhelming white. It calls them the white people's party

I don't think so. That being said, I didn't make an assumption about you as you claim.

First time I have ever heard anyone argue that the Republican Party isn't overwhelmingly white. You have made no case against it but an exciting first none the less.

White people can suffer discrimination, but not racism, because the system is currently set up to specifically benefit white people over others.

And if you find the idea of making all races equal to be "racism against white people," then yeah, you probably do have some issues with race you should deal with at some point.

Just a small sample of what's on there:

"By immensely helpful coincidence, Donald Trump’s 11-year-old sexist rant tape surfaced on the same day that Wikileaks revealed Hillary Clinton’s support for hemispheric “free trade” and cuts in Social Security. But Trump’s campaign may be doomed, while Clinton rides high in the polls. The Donald is “a better foil for the Democratic party than any other Republican could possibly be.” Both sides of the duopoly connive to fill Hillary’s big tent."

"The world’s most reactionary regime, the head-chopping, terror-sponsoring Saudi Arabian kleptocracy, was awarded the chair of the UN Human Rights Council, while Russia has been kicked out. The travesty was engineered by the Superpower of Lies to punish Moscow for resisting the U.S.-led war of sectarian massacre and regime change in Syria. The War Party is on the march, to the cheers of corporate media – and Hillary hasn’t even been elected yet."

The resistance to a Hillary Clinton presidency has already begun. Activists gathered in Chicago “to strategize the fight against police violence, neoliberalism and imperialism,” all of which promise to be hallmarks of her administration. The Black Misleadership Class plays its usual, toadying role. “The liars who said they would hold Obama’s feet to the fire are repeating their empty words and hoping no one pays attention.”
