2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumJill Stein is simply promoting the Green Party while validating the election.
Election fraud is not being thoroughly looked into. This is a recount that will provide little else outside of confirming to the majority of Americans that we have the greatest system ever. Stein herself has sold this as something it is not.
There are seriously negative aspects to what she is doing. She is confirming there is no election fraud in the minds of voters without even truly looking into election fraud.
We don't even have the first clue as to how much money she has brought in.
She has proven herself to be mentally bankrupt in the past. This is just more of the same.

She's been giving people unrealistic expectations from the start. That probably shouldn't surprise anyone. She neglected to mention that she actually needed proof of fraud to get a recount in MI and she seems to have misunderstood how the process works there, and in PA and WI.
As you noted, this whole charade largely ignores the real issues - voter suppression, voter ID laws, the gutting of the VRA, and other ways that the GOP put their hands on the scale *before* the first vote was even cast. That's where the real focus should lie.

(3,186 posts)It's one of their signature issues. In fact, an election official from Ohio got jail time for election fraud in 2004 thanks to their recount efforts in that state. And more importantly, that effort got several states to do away with their most vulnerable voting machines. Btw- I'd love to see every state do away with these machines. Many other things need to be done too, but getting rid of those damn machines would be a good start.
So no. This is not a Green Party promotion attempt. This is standard operating procedure for them.

The GP has a solid record with many of their past efforts. Stein is a fraud and mentally bankrupt.
