Going Forward - where should we focus?

Should we go back to the 50 state strategy of reaching out to all communities? Or should we focus on those areas and communities that have traditionally been our allies or reliable Democratic?

We should focus most if not all attention on those communities where we are strongest

people. Simple message - why we are better than them.

Hillary would have won with someone like that.

For everyone who said, "we don't get in the dirt" How'd that work out?

If we had labeled Donald a liar first, crooked first...different ball game

Trump had a message, but no plan.

Hillary had a plan but no message.

Obama had a message and a plan.

Anyone notice a pattern?

There is no simple answer. We need to shore up our support in Middle America. California and NY cannot win elections for us. Heck, Hillary would have barely won if she had managed to flip Texas (which will happen in another 10-12 years). My biggest personal takeaway from this election cycle is that middle America does not like to be ignored. We need to show them that they. along with everyone else, has a place under the democratic umbrella.

it - it was an after thought. Middle America was only told everything was horrible. Remember how Hillary got that huge bump post convention - a reaction to hope and good things.

We ignored middle America by not reminding them of the progress made.
