Fake News Is Still with Us - Beware and Check for Corroboration
If you find a "news" story that claims something that will block Trump's presidency, please check your source. There are still plenty of fake news sites out there, promulgating fake news or wildly distorting actual news stories.
If your source isn't immediately recognizable as a well-known, trusted source of accurate news, try searching for the topic of the story in Google News. If you don't find the story anywhere but some questionable website, odds are the story isn't actually truthful, or may be distorted or created from whole cloth.
For OPs on DU, a certain amount of fact-checking and verification should be a standard for posters. It takes only a moment to do a Google News search and look for corroboration before posting. If it is a truthful, factual story, you'll find it on a news website that is widely recognized as a reliable source.
If you can't find a reliable source, it's probably best not to post the story at all. It's probably fake news and will prove to be an embarrassment as soon as other DUers point that out.
