2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMorning Whoa reporting that Don the Con is upset with Kellyanne about her comments
about Mitt Romney. He feels she spoke out of term and threw the transition team, who have tension with her, under the bus. They also indicated that she might be a little pissed because she has not been offered a prime position.

(3,040 posts)Got paid up front and in cash for her work on Trump's campaign because it looks like she isn't going to get paid. On second thought, No, I hope Trump doesn't pay her.

(46,604 posts)That'd be fun.
Else You Are Mad
(3,040 posts)That would be great. And, as is his MO, he will say that she didn't do a good job so she doesn't deserve to get paid -- and, he probably will blame his loss in NY and CA on her.

(20,999 posts)...no matter the outcome. Conjob is NOT a tRump believer, supporter or fan. She became the third Campaign Manager at the behest of the Mercer family, to whom she is a loyal family retainer.
Else You Are Mad
(3,040 posts)Which is probably why she hasn't been offered a job by Trump. She will go back to working for the Mercers in some capacity.

(20,999 posts)The Mercer Family Foundation is a private grant-making foundation in the United States. As of 2013, it had $37 million in assets. The foundation is run by Rebekah Mercer, the daughter of computer scientist and hedge fund manager Robert Mercer.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Mercer_(businessman)
Robert Leroy Mercer (born July 11, 1946) is an American computer scientist and co-CEO of Renaissance Technologies, a hedge fund. He is a major donor to conservative political causes. Mercer has donated to Super PACs affiliated with Freedom Partners, Club for Growth Action, and John R. Bolton. He is the principal benefactor of the Make America Number 1 Super PAC.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Make_America_Number_1
Make America Number 1 is a super PAC (political action committee) that supported the presidential campaigns of Ted Cruz and Donald Trump in the 2016 United States presidential election. During the primary campaign, the super PAC was known as Keep the Promise I. In the general election, it informally termed itself Defeat Crooked Hillary PAC. The PAC is run by Rebekah Mercer, the second daughter of its largest donor Robert Mercer.
Robert Mercer donated $15.5 million to the PAC during the 2016 campaign; philanthropist Bernard Marcus donated $2 million; and Cherna Moskowitz donated $1 million. As of November 2, it had received a total of $19,586,131 in donations. Robert Mercer is the fourth-largest contributor to Super PACs in the 2016 cycle.
Rebekah Mercer has been chairperson of the PAC since 2015. Its operations were headed by Kellyanne Conway from August 2015 until she was tapped to serve as the Campaign Manager of the Donald Trump campaign in mid-August 2016. The PAC also employed Stephen Bannon, who joined the campaign as CEO. After Conway's departure, David Bossie took leadership. He left in September to become Trump's Deputy Campaign Manager, and Rebekah Mercer took over leadership of day-to-day operations.
During the general election the PAC ran anti-Hillary Clinton ads in a $350,000 campaign in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Make America Number 1 responded to the public release of Donald Trump's conversation with Billy Bush about his treatment of women by stating, "We are completely indifferent to Mr. Trump's locker room braggadocio."

(2,331 posts)winning,. the revelation that Kellyann and Bannon worked for the Mercers was scary, but then I found that they also bankrolled a discredited book on Clinton foundation that was used to instigate an investigation by the FBI. The article i just read about this shows a screen shot of the author on RT (Russian Tv news) How much Russian involvement was there in promoting this garbage book aimed at the Clinton's? Is the fact that Rebekah Mercer is married to a Frenchman with what sounds like a Russian last name significant? Sylvain Mirochnikoff?

(9,362 posts)Two sources at the top of the Donald Trump transition team confirmed to MSNBC that they spoke to the president-elect today and that Donald Trump was "furious" at Kellyanne Conway's comments Sunday suggesting Trump "betrayed" his supporters by even considering Mitt Romney for a position in his cabinet.
"Kellyanne went rogue at Donald Trump's expense at the worst possible time," a source familiar with Trump's thinking told MSNBC.
Trump's top aides said they were "baffled" by Conway's comments and suggested that it feeds into a growing concern inside the campaign that "instead of driving Donald Trump's message, she's pushing her own agenda."
"It's dangerous," said a top transition aide.
Steve Bannon and Reince Priebus have reportedly been growing frustrated by Conway's failure to become a team player in a transition process where the top players are forming a tight knit group around the president-elect.
Conway, responding to MSNBC via text early Monday, denied the report, saying, "It is all false. And sexist."
Conway went on to say about her role in the transition: "I [can] have any job I want. May stay outside to take the Plouffe role and run the political operation. [Trump] wants me by his side."
Conway was referring to David Plouffe, President Barack Obama's 2008 campaign manager.

(2,246 posts)In reality from the campaign, I think she is very good at what she does and a consumate team Trump player. She wouldn't be doing or saying any of this without 100% approval of Trump, particularly this publicly and in your face. She doesn't need to try and get fired, she can quit.
