(78,290 posts)Getting hit with winter storm?

(32,803 posts)I feel bad for the kids. The schools actually gave them a snow day and no remote learning at all. I hope they don't get their hopes up and get disappointed.
I could maybe make a snowman but you'd need a microscope to see it.

(32,803 posts)And it looks like my little circle of sunshine aka clear sky is going to start closing around 8 o'clock. So maybe NaNa and I can get some snow pictures tomorrow. I've got her wardrobe prepared.
She's the funniest thing when it comes to her outfits. She jumps into them. Usually, with less than accurate precision. But she knows the difference between a sweater and a dress and pj's. And we're working on some sign language now.
My heart. ❤️
She loves her denim jacket that Santa brought her.

(192 posts)About 6 inches of snow, still snowing. 10 degrees with a brisk breeze. No snowplow up here yet, Im thinking he might be busy.

(32,803 posts)Put a five pound black dog into to snap a picture. Not enough for a snow plow, that's for sure. 😃

(54,497 posts)Life is a series of Zoom 2,5, and 12 steps, online doesn't work the way it used to, the meatballs - some of the finest heat 'n serve you can buy - taste like cardboard, big tech plagues me, and every time I type internet it comes out like internment. Other than that, I'm fine, thanks for asking.

(2,933 posts)are getting along fairly well despite the cold and ice, which has just about disappeared, leaving only the cold air in its wake.
BTW, I'm the only biped in the house. Four cats and a dog.

(2,141 posts)Sitting here in SoCal where it's 80* while so many are dealing with the cold. The warm temps now do have a down side though. My plants are loving the sun, but it's too early for some of them to be blooming. My avocado tree has blossoms which aren't supposed to be here until closer to March or even April. We're supposed to get rain next week and will probably get at least a couple of days down around freezing before the end of the month. So all of those flowers will drop off which means no fruit this year!!
But in the big scheme of things, it's a small worry compared to so many areas of the country now. We do have ICE goons grabbing people in nearby areas, but it's nothing like in Minneapolis or other hot spots. And our protest rallies are not in minus zero degrees weather!!
Sending hugs to the other DU loners out there!! Stay warm!
