Bereavement
Related: About this forumWell, it's been 7 years
I am doing all I can to be here for our grandkids' h.s graduations, still in the future. I don't feel upbeat and I feel like throwing things. But I won't. Just keep going, one foot in front of another and try not to wonder too much.
Thank you, DU friends. I appreciate the support. I am going to go walk the dogs and pick up the kids from school. Affirmation.

(18,993 posts)I thought the day was the 27th, but our kids starting sending pictures of their Dad this morning, so I had to check. I think I get the date wrong on purpose. I've spent the last couple hours sending pictures back to them. I love the memories, in small doses.
Thank you Niyad

(11,399 posts)I'm on year 5 of losing my 27+ year spouse. I was hoping that in 2 more years it would be much better.
I am better than I was at the 2 year mark. Now, it's just a constant ache and not as disabling as it was that first year. I feel like I've crawled out of a hole in the ground and am trying to not slip back in.
