Watching Schindler's List last night was not a good idea

I got my Mom a copy of Fiddler on The Roof last year. She loved it
I'm going to watch that tonight

1. We saw it in the theater. Great movie, but terribly depressing.

I bought the laser disc, and have never been able to bring myself to watch it again.

2. Fiddler on The Roof has a lot of parts that are very sad.

Tevye had a lot of tzuris (misery).

3. Some movies are so deeply affecting.

Saw it in the theater and knew I could only bear it once. I'll never forget it. Ralph Fiennes' character...don't have words. Same with Private Ryan. My sister and I took our dad, who served in the Navy in WW II. We had no idea such a brutally realistic depiction of the D-Day landing was in the offing. Dad made it through, but told us after that one of his best buddies in high school had died on Omaha Beach. Seeing these movies one time keeps those powerful scenes untarnished, undiminished in my memory.

4. I saw it in '93 when it first came out. It was a matine in Miami Beach. I was probably the youngest person there

and I was in my early 40's. I as the movie progressed I could hear sobs coming from around the theater . .
When it was over many people were crying.
I can't watch it again. It hurt too much to see. Once was enough. Excellent movie and excellent acting but no. Never again.
