About 10 years ago, during our veggie seedling sales, a couple really kissed up to us - which made me suspicious (it didn't seem sincere). Turns out whey wanted me to buy gallon jugs of special "demagnetized water" from them for improved gardening performance of the plants. With my PhD in chemistry, I just started lightly challenging their premise. First came the snark/faux insult...but they vanished without a trace, and we, shall we say, lost them as customers.

Boy, I never heard the end of the yells!
Was called everything form a Satanist to some obscene names.

Fundys do NOT like being called out on history or science.

as the time I told her that her $14.95 copper bracelet didn't heal (or protect against) carpal tunnel.

She explicitly (and furiously) told me that she'd rather believe something that she knows to be false than accept an unpleasant truth.
