There are none so convinced in their beliefs as the newly converted. Whether it be drugs, alcohol, tobacco, religion, politics, gambling, sex, or whatever, they must usually denounce their old ways in severe terms to convince themselves they did the right thing in this new belief.

Second would be a true believer who has found a doubt and does not want to stop believing.
