Granted, religion itself is conceptually embarrassing. Displays like the one we saw the other day from the Rose Garden from the pillow guy are just that embarrassment on steroids.

While no believer myself, I think in connection with this sort of spectacle a comment by Mr. Chesterton seems appropriate:
"Christianity has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult, and not tried."
Even by the lights of most people who consider themselves Christians, this man's display must be repellent.
