Church Staffer Arrested After Giant Stash of Child Porn Found on Computer
July 16, 2017 by Hemant Mehta
Whenever church leaders are charged with being sexual predators, the details are always way more disturbing than youd ever imagine.
Chad Robison is a 36-year-old long-time music director of Seven River Presbyterian Church in Lecanto, Florida. In May, one of his co-workers thought itd be funny to play a prank on him that involved doing something on Robisons computer and thats when he noticed Robisons secret.
On his personal laptop we have more than 3,000 videos and 350,000 photographs that our detectives have combed thru, said [Citrus County Sheriff Mike Prendergast].
Investigators say many of those videos were recorded online webcam chats between Robison and underage girls, as young as 14, through the website Omegle.com. Its a cam-to-cam chat site with users all over the globe.
We have videos of Robison having virtual sex with an underage female who is not local as well as trying to coerce young girls to show him their breasts, he said. The defendant was secretly video and recording females in his restroom at his home over the course of the time he gathered pictures and videos.

The church fired him immediately afterwards and he was charged with several sex crimes this past Thursday. Theres no indication he ever did anything criminal with kids at his church, but the people there obviously misplaced their trust. Police are questioning church members to make sure nothing else happened. Good on the co-worker, though, for alerting authorities to what he found. In another situation, this couldve been a cover-up.
Incidentally, Seven River is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America, which believes homosexuality is a serious threat to young people in our society and that parents must be warned of the homosexual agenda being promoted through the agency of government schools.

(12,858 posts)See blog bobfelton.com and blog thewartburgwatch.com (TWW). TWW recently had several posts with many comments about a mega-church in DFW that attempted to 'discipline' a woman who divorced her husband (also a member of that church) because he was watching lots of child porn on his computer, even while they were on the mission field. She refused to followchurch elders' counsel to withdraw her divorce petition.
TWW has also discussed Doug Wilson, who persuaded a young woman in his church to marry a pedophile who Wilson claimed had repented and reformed. IIRC after they had a child there was a court order he was not to be alone with the child.

(13,635 posts)Why is this automatically related to homosexuality? From this atricle at least, this is a pedophile heterosexual crime.
So why the reference to homosexual?
Has it becone so common place to automatically connect pedophile acts to homosexuality?
It's right wing propaganda to make such a flippant connection.

(4,033 posts)...the poster is trying to highlight the irony/hypocrisy of the church harping about homosexuality while one of their members is engaged in pedophilia activities.

(13,635 posts)Two different subjects. There's no irony in connecting the two. It's just an unacceptable smear on homosexuality. It's not any different than the post about the pastor blaming homosexuals for rise in asault. A false equivalency. In this case the hypocrisy could go both ways.

(4,033 posts)... to conflate homosexuality and pedophilia as equivalent, and I believe that the poster also agrees it is wrong.
I do not agree that exposing someone or highlighting an organization that does routinely conflate them as equivalent is hypocrisy.
