A Young Mormon Girl Told Her Church Shes Gay, So They Shut Her Mic Off
June 15, 2017 by Hemant Mehta
Last month, a 12-year-old girl named Savannah wanted to say a few words during her Mormon wards monthly Fast and Testimony meeting. She wanted to talk about what God meant to her.
She told the crowd that her heavenly parents made her just the way she is. They gave her freckles. They gave her brown eyes.
And they made her gay.
As soon as she says it, theres a murmur in the crowd. No one really knows what to do. So the 1st Counselor in the Stake Presidency eventually made the decision for everyone: He shut off Savannahs microphone and told her to sit down.
A video of Savannah's testimony, or as much as she was allowed to deliver:

I like how she got 90% of the way through it before anyone even started paying attention.

(15,631 posts)1. Oh, she's so close
She just needs to rid herself of the idea of friendly ghosts in the sky making her what she is today. If nothing else, hopefully she'll leave the Mormon Church behind and take up with a less-toxic sect.

And maybe even push her whole family out the door.
