Sam Harris has said some bad things about violent Muslim extremists. That means he is a Horrible New Atheist (tm), and needs to be publicly flogged.

The pope has said that gender theory is akin to Naziism, that marriage equality is "from Satan," and that any discussion of equality for women is "off the table." He's OK to praise on DU, though. Because religion.

...ring, I might be inclined to listen to what he has to say, but until then, what passes for "christian" derived philosophy is nothing but vacuous drivel (e.g. the trinity) in my, ever-so, humble opinion.

That is not to say the SH has all the answers (or any for that matter in the final analysis), but at least he does know how to have a decent conversation.

glad to see Sam getting back to the philosophy/religion stuff that made his rep. I've been a little disappointed at how far afield some of his work has been lately. Podcast with Gary Taubs on food, for example. Just not what I go to Sam for and I have enough trouble keeping up with all the podcasts as it is.
