DU is being flooded with posts denying that terrorism has anything to do with religion. The believers are lining up to say "yea verily, and amen."

but Islam and the Koran are still the foundation or "base document" from which the perversions spring.

Take away the religion aspect and they still might be killers, but they wouldn't have near the following.

some on the left have a tendency to turn a blind eye to the obvious rather than offend someone's precious beliefs.

Yes, there are moderate and liberal Muslims/Christians/Jews etc. But we aren't just going to sing Kum By Ya and make it all better. We need address that these terrorists are driving by their beliefs. Take religion out of the equation and their motives start to crumble.

5. Reminds me of a blog-post where a pastor attacked and defended Mega-Churches at the same time.

It was some blog of a pastor in the US and I think I found the link via DU or so.

She mentioned in this blog-post how she once went to a Mega-Church and was disgusted by that money-worshipping and made a scene there as a sign of protest.
And in the second half of this very same post she implored her readers to still accept Mega-Churches as christian and to not come up with religious arguments why they are bad.

Her post can be summarized as: "Mega-Churches are a perversion of Christianity, but you shouldn't try to stop them because they say that they are christian and you should accept that."

Here on DU, if you say "Christianity is misogynistic, homophobic, sometimes violent, and anti-democratic" you get congratulated.

If you say "Islam is misogynistic, homophobic, sometimes violent, and anti-democratic" you get called a bigot.
